Firefox 3.0.8, PayPal, and Crashes
I just ran into a problem of logging into PayPal using Firefox 3.0.8 on Windows Vista SP1 (x86) resulting in an immediate crash. As the crashes started this afternoon upgrading to Firefox 3.0.9 didn’t solve it. The next step was to try running Firefox in safe-mode so any recent plugin installations causing problems might get disabled. For some strange reason the crashes persisted. Next I restarted Firefox in regular mode and took a look at the add-on list. It turns on the crash is usually related to two plug-ins: PayPal plugin and Move Player plugin. The latter was installed so I uninstalled it. Problem solved.
