I just spent the past two hours racking my brains over NSS (Nemesis Service Suite) freezing on me when I instructed it to search for a phone. According to this (http://www.howardforums.com/archive/topic/1168958-1.html) post Nokia's PC Suite needs to be running.

The Nokia PC Suite for the E61 can be downloaded in US and UK English (US user here) from the following site: http://www.nokiausa.com/support/pcsuite/download.html (just select E62, as there is no E61 option with NokiaUSA). Its size is only 25mb. This means I can ditch the Nokia DVD that accompanied my phone, and not have to contend with software intended for the red coats.

Unfortunately, my unit was purchased in Germany and I'm going to need US English settings and a new US keyboard (sigh).

I can't believe an E61i existed at the time that I bought this thing! I have 3 marketing books I need to read and here I am commenting on a blog...

Long live the E61!!!

the thing was the make sure you have the power still in when you boot the phone up again.

PS: just Keep holding it also dont keep your mini sd card in there when you boot up Ok.

Hello,
does somebody know the product code to reset a Vodafone E61i (german) to the factory settings?
It could save me around 100,- Euros to pick a Vodafone branded E61i here at ebay and debrand it ;-)

Hi everybody.

Somebody knows if you can do a reverse Flashing from version 3 to version 2?

I know, you think this guy is crazy, hehehe, but his happen because I live in Costa Rica, and here our telephone company (only one = monopoly) can connect to her services only version 2, but I made a update directly from Nokia website and they update my E61 phone to version 3.

Can I put the version 2?

Can I crack the number when you do *#0000# and only change this number?

Because I now the version 3 is better that 2, but this company doesn't accept.

Thank you for your replies...

I did the update and it all worked, the right firmware shows up when I do *#0000# but I have no IM, no Push-to-Talk and Sip still doesn't work through GPRS (says WLAN not available). Any ideas??

Hi there,
I have Nokia E61 with software version 2.0618.06.05, 14-07-06, RM-89, Nokia E61
Simlock info( by using * # 9 2 7 0 2 6 8 9 #) :- 000000:01
Product code: 0531060.
Keyboard style as shown in the blog above.
Phone is Vodaphone UK. but there is no logo on the cover ( may be removed as i bought the second hand)
But when i turn on the phone it shows vodaphone logo.

i have not changed the product code through the NSS. I just thought to give it a try directly to NSU, and it showed there the firmware is uptodate but you can reinstall it.
So when i tried to reinstall it it asked for SIM with general profile.

I donot have any vodaphone sim..so when i try to upgrade the firmware i got struck over here see the following link.

http://geocities.com/punjabiputra2000/insertsimcard.JPG

Can you please tell me how should i proceed now??

And whats that 000000:01 simlock info means??

Any help is much appreciated,

Thanks in advance

Well done Hisham, I successfully reflashed my Aus Voda e61. I found it frustrating going to a Nokia Care Centre, sometimes they had the right sw & most times they didn't. Spoke to them just before updating & they still couldn't advise on the current version approved by Voda Aus. Your suggestion saved me heaps of time & a fruitless visit - WELL DONE !

To: Zvuqniki or anyone with info on the following

Hello Zvuqniki,
I am eager to flash my E61(operator: Three UK), wanted to ask you which product code did you use, did any of the keybindings get messed up, when did you buy your phone (aka which software version it had before the flashing). Also to the rest of you guys some general questions: do you have to have your phone in a particular mode whilst flashing - General, Offline etc.

Any help is much appreciated,

Thanks in advance
