i-Mate Jasjar is out!
The phone that I’ve wanted forever is finally out. The i-Mate Jasjar (formerly known as the HTC Universal) is a combination Pocket PC PDA and phone in one package. What makes it unique is the large VGA screen, full keyboard, tri-band connectivity (lacks 850Mhz band), UTMS (3G data services capable), two 1.3 megapixel cameras, full wifi and bluetooth built-in, and Windows Mobile 5.0 (latest version) all in a small package. About the only thing it lacks is a compact flash slot. It can be ordered from Expansys for immediate shipping from the UK. The I-Mate Phone Store has it in the United States for $1200.00 (not a typo).
Specs:
- Key features - Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 (2005)

That’s awesome! It suites you so well (since you have a PDA and cellphone). I bet when/if you get this, if will make things easier for ya’
So, which picture depicts how you would hold the “cellphone” if you were talking on it?
Kinda pricey though…
cool phone i would never buy one i would not know how to use it i hope you can get one if thats what you want let me know how it works
Zaheera, the second picture shows how you would talk on it but the phone is pretty large and heavy. I think it weighs more than half a pound so you wouldn’t want to hold it up to your face. I have a Motorola HS810 Bluetooth headset so I can leave the phone/PDA strapped to my belt and talk wirelessly. My car also has Bluetooth functionality so I can control my phone with the built-in steering wheel mounted controls and listen to the conversation over the car speakers. Yes, I’m a huge nerd.
Cecilia, I’ll let you know if I buy it. The problem is that it’s so darned expensive to buy it without a contract that I don’t think I will. For that price I can buy a brand new HP iPaq HX4705 PDA, a huge memory card, a mini thumb keyboard, a new wireless headset, a brand new RAZR phone and still have enough money left over for a couple pairs of designer jeans. So… I don’t think I’ll be buying it.
wow that much
