In the market for a new luxury cruiser

So we have been debating on what our next uber-luxury car is going to be. We’ve search high and low and here are some of the cars on the list. All the cars come with a navigation system and XM or Sirius radio as options (if not standard equipment). All the prices below reflect cars that are loaded with every option. Please feel free to shoot me an email if you have any recommendations.

BMW 750Li

One wore: UGLY! Chrise Bangle really designed an ugly car for BMW. Yes, they updated the front and rear for 2006 but it really didn’t fix the overall ugliness of the design. I would change the front and rear completely. However, compared to the front, I like the back of the car is somewhat better. The interior is really ugly as well. It just feels cheap and there is nothing earth shatteringly amazing inside. Sure, BMW might have a great engine under the hood but the 750Li doesn’t strike me as a work of art. Cost: $90,000

Audi A8L

Stunning, classic lines. Out of all the cars that I’m going to list, Audi has stayed true without going overboard in the styling department. The car is a beauty inside as well. Audi interiors are unmatched by anyone in this class. The car comes equipped with a 4.2 liter V-8 which is plenty. Audi also offers a W-12 but it’s not exactly my #1 priority right now. The sport package is beautiful and a necessary addition. The car is extremely quiet when driven but it has the power to be decently fast. Cost: $84,000

VW Phaeton

A Volkswagon? In this group of cars? Yes, VW makes a luxury barge and they are aiming to get respect in this market. For their first attempt, I will say bravo! The car is a beauty, packed with technology and drives very well. Considering what you are getting, the car is even more unbelieveable at this price point. Yes, VW offers both a V-8 and a W-12. The W-12 version comes out to above $100,000! Unfortunately, I think I will wait until the second generation to consider it again so VW can iron out any kinks it has in this demanding segment. Cost: $80,000

I’ll finish this later…

maserati quattroporte

mercedes benz w221 s-class

jaguar xj12
